Exploring Life With Passion
blog
Not every season looks like progress. Some seasons don’t come with visible wins, clear milestones, or anything you could point to and say, “Look — this is working.”
Some seasons just look like roots. Quietly forming underground, where no one can see the work being done.
If that’s where you are right now, this is for you.
There’s a particular kind of discouragement that comes from doing everything right and still not seeing results. You’re praying. You’re showing up. You’re doing the work. And still — nothing seems to be changing.
It’s easy, in that silence, to start believing the worst: that you’re stuck. That you’re falling behind. That maybe this season is simply being wasted.
But delay isn’t denial. And stillness isn’t wasted — even when it feels like it.
Think about how a tree actually grows. Long before there’s a trunk reaching toward the sky, there are roots — reaching down, spreading wide, anchoring deep into ground no one will ever see. That root system doesn’t happen quickly, and it doesn’t happen where anyone can watch it. It happens in the dark, slowly, before the tree ever shows a single sign of growth above the surface.
Growth happens in the dark long before it ever reaches the light.
The same is true for you. The praying you’re doing when no one’s watching. The healing you’re working through in private. The patience you’re practicing when it would be easier to give up. None of that is wasted — it’s the very thing that will hold you steady when the growth finally becomes visible.
If you’re in a season like this right now — waiting, wondering if anything is actually happening — let this be your reminder: it is. Something is happening. You’re not stuck. You’re rooting.
That reframe matters, because how we name a season changes how we carry it. “Stuck” feels hopeless. “Rooting” feels purposeful — even in the waiting, even in the dark, even when there’s nothing to show for it yet.
This is exactly the kind of season Inspiration for Your Journey was written for. Daily devotionals for the waiting, the wondering, the in-between — a companion for the days that test our patience and remind us we’re never walking through them alone.

You’re not stuck. You’re rooting. And what’s forming beneath the surface right now will hold everything that’s coming.
